During a discussion at a Sunday morning coffee hour regarding the effects of the pandemic on Retirement Home residents, the Card Making Ministry was formed. With just a simple card, we could let others know that we remember them and that we care. Members and friends of Zion as well as members of the community have been working on making cards. We have made over 400 cards which have been sent to 3 area nursing homes.
Pop-up cards which we learned to make during an online card making session, have been popular and fun to make. We are currently working on cards that will be sent to the 47 migrant workers at the Pfenning’s Farm.
We are accepting donations of homemade and ready made cards, as well as any materials to make the cards, along with old calendar pictures or greeting cards which would be suitable to recycle into new cards. Donations may be left at the donation bin at the church.
