During a discussion at a Sunday morning coffee hour regarding the effects of the pandemic on Retirement Home residents, the Card Making Ministry was formed. With just a simple card, we could let others know that we remember them and that we care. To date, members and friends of Zion as well as members of the community have made well over 500 cards which have been sent to 5 area nursing homes and various groups.
We learned to make these pop-up cards during an online card making session. They have been popular and fun to make. These cards were sent to the 47 migrant workers at the Pfenning’s Farm.
We will gladly accept your donations of handmade cards, card stock, old greeting cards, calendar pictures, scrapbooking supplies etc. to be used to create new cards to bless residents of nursing homes, homeless folks and those in need of a card of encouragement.
Donations may be left in the donation bin located at the side of the church.
