A warm welcome to you from all of us at Zion Lutheran Church in Philipsburg.
We are excited to announce that we have returned to in-person worship! All protocols from Waterloo Region Public Health as well as the recommendations on the Resumption of In-Person Worship from the Eastern Synod will be followed.
Audio postings of our Worship services will continue to be available each week for you to enjoy from the comfort and safety of your home.
The work of the church continues as we strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We collect food and clothing items for those in need, we make and distribute blankets for those experiencing illness or loss, we reach out through our card making project as well as through many individual acts of kindness and compassion. If you or someone you know is in need of support or a helping hand, send us an email through our Contact Us page.

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Philipsburg
We are a community of Lutheran believers who can trace the roots of this church back to the 1830s, when seven pioneer families from the Alsace-Lorraine areas of Germany settled here. Founded in 1843, we are members of the Nith Valley Ministry Area in the Eastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, and one of the seven original charter Lutheran churches in the area.
In 2018 we celebrated the 175th Anniversary of our Congregation with special events held throughout the year.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, worship services in the church building are currently suspended. Online worship services are posted weekly.
Our Sunday School runs from September to June on various Sundays, during the Worship Service. Sunday School classes are temporarily suspended at this time.
